I've not used HIGH on the Highway gearbox (much), but some people swear by it also for use in terrain (but in my experience you're less likely to be able to upshift to it from LOW+). On the offroad gearbox, you should be using HIGH to go faster than LOW+ in any terrain that allows it, because it will prevent your truck downshifting yet still allow a higher speed.

If you're only using HIGH on a straight road, you are playing Snowrunner wrong. I know it's not your traditional pattern. The 6 non-auto gears feel like actual gears, they don't shift like the AUTO does, and they each have separate top speed.

DRIVING FORCE GT MANUAL MANUAL
Manual gears would be your traditional 1 to 6 H pattern or with real trucks your 1 to 4 with range and splitter function to create 16 gears.Īnd yes if I'm not in auto I won't go into reverse by hitting the brake pedal but i'm also not using high range unless i'm travelling on a mostly straight road and I'm not using low unless I'm stuck in the mud or going up a steep hill which leaves me using auto when I'm not doing either of those things. You don't have control over the specific gears just a broad range of gears. (it would be nice if brake-reverse could be turned off for auto.) All of the gears can be assigned to keyboard keys or buttons, I'm using the digipad on my wheel for 4 of these. Those aren't manual gears those are auto range selectors. Originally posted by mendel:SnowRunner has 6 manual gears (reverse, neutral, low-, low, low+, high) in addition to auto (not all gearboxes have all of these), and the brake pedal works (= does not reverse) in all of them except auto. And the FFB settings have a bunch of parameters you can set, like tilt gain, friction gain, spring gain, and collision gain. In Snowrunner, different trucks may show different sensitivity, too. Spintires is much more of a fight with FFB for me.
DRIVING FORCE GT MANUAL UPDATE
the game also did not support my thrustmaster shifter TH8A to work together with my G290.I have played both MudRunner and Snowrunner on a Logitech Driving Force GT and didn't notice any inferiority, so maybe the February update improved it? or maybe we have different standards. If you have problems with FFB auto-centering heavily on Logitech wheels (e.g. Shifters that are separate USB devices don't seem to be supported, unless they are listed above.
